Black and White

ISO: 80
Aperture: 5.8
Shutter Speed: 1/30
This week I chose black and white for the category. I thought it would be easier to do this but I found it was pretty hard. I couldn't find anything to shoot that had a lot of contrast in the picture, and it's hard to find something that would look good in black and white. I went around my yard taking pictures of anything interesting I saw.

Portrait

In this assignment we two different pictures and they were both in different kinds of lighting. The picture on the left was by a window and we used a white piece of paper as a reflector. The one on the right is in a studio where there were specific lights set up. We opened them both up in gimp and edited them by adjusting them to the right levels and put frames around both of them. In this assignment I learned how to add frames around two pictures and also how different lighting works in two different settings.

Food

ISO: 80
Aperture: 5.8
Shutter Speed: 1/25
This week I shot food for the category. I tried to shoot different foods but taking pictures of these cookies was my favorite because I liked the colors and because of the sprinkles they looked cool up close. I found shooting food not very hard, but it also wasn't very easy. I found it easier because I was shooting close up but getting the food at a good angle was the harder part.

Context Assignment

For this assignment we took pictures inside the school and had to add something to one picture that would change the school and make it look different. We used gimp to edit the photos. I took pictures of the  outside of the school and decided I wanted to add some kind of cartoon character in it so I put batman and superman flying above the school. I found this assignment difficult because it was hard to think of something unique and different to do and still be able to not do something that would be really difficult to accomplish. I learned how to add images onto another using layers and how to do it by keeping the original background of the first picture.

Motion Blur Assignment

For this assignment I learned how to take a motion blur picture. I learned that when taking this picture you need to hold the button you take a picture with half way down, while following the object that is moving in front of you. Once the object comes to the center, take the picture. A good shutter speed to take this kind of picture is 1/30 or 1/40.

Photo Assignment #3

ISO: 180
Aperture: f3.2
Shutter speed: 1/80
This week I chose animals for the category. I took my dog in my backyard and took pictures of her. I found it really hard to get a good picture because I needed her to be doing something rather than just her sitting down.  This picture was my favorite because it was really simple yet interesting because she was  in a good position and looking at  something from afar.

Panoramic Assignment

For this assignment we went out and took 3 pictures right next to each other and had to make sure they were overlapping. After we took the pictures we went online to edit them and went on gimp to put the three pictures together. We used the crop, move, and scale tools to do this.

Architecture

ISO: 80
Aperture: f5.8
Shutter Speed: 1/80
For the second photo assignment I chose architecture for the category. Some places I went to take pictures were downtown Saline, and down the the road I live on. I walked around downtown Saline and I would when we drove down the road I would ask my mom to stop and i would role down the window and take a picture. I found this assignment a lot easier than last week and was able to get some good pictures because the buildings are really old and tall so it's easy to get a good angle to take a picture.
